Communicating Water Science for Transboundary Cooperation in the Nile Basin
22 May 2017
NBCBN in collaboration with its partner IHE-Delft, organized the regional workshop on:
Communicating Water Science for Transboundary Cooperation in the Nile Basin

From 22nd-23rd May, 2017

The workshop was held at Pyramisa Cairo hotel - Egypt and it was attended by a group of NBCBN members, Water Diplomacy Lab Project researchers, journalists, regional and international partners representatives. The event was organized under the open Water Diplomacy Lab research project; which is conceived as a laboratory where water journalists, scientists and diplomats engage in a process of common learning and co-production of knowledge on and for water diplomacy. This action research will be:
- inter-disciplinary
- trans-national (scientists and journalists from different Nile basin countries will work together)
- co-creative (scientists and journalists engaging in joint research/communication projects).

The key objective of this important regional workshop was to facilitate discussion between journalists and researchers about water science communication and how to link with different target groups like decision and policy makers and to identify challenges and points for action to be addresses by future joint training activities under the Water Diplomacy Lab project.
