International Workshop on: Youth in Water Diplomacy, Cairo-Egypt, June 2019, in collaboration with Water Youth Network. This event was a joint activity with Water Youth Network (WYN), where NBCBN developed a new partnership with WYN to start cooperation in supporting young water professionals to get involved in activities of Water diplomacy and leadership. The event was a successful step towards building an international community of practice of young water professionals with skills to discuss and contribute to decision making on transboundary water issues. Participants from different regions joined this event including Africa, Europe, Asia, Latin America and Canada.

Regional kickoff workshop on water scarcity research project, February 2018, Kampala, Uganda: The workshop was organized jointly by Makerere University project partner in Uganda and (NBCBN) SEC – Office in Cairo.  The workshop aimed at launching of the three research projects accepted and funded under the program, presented the projects key work plans, preliminary collected data sets, agreement on deliverables and the adjusted project time frame and reporting guidelines of the project.

Workshop and Study Tour to Egypt: Second Training of Journalists from The Eastern Nile Basin: the workshop was organized in Collaboration with SIWI and MWRI-Egypt, Alexandria, May 2018. The event included participation and presentations by key resource persons from governmental, multilateral, and international research institutions. The workshop consisted of a 4-day tailored training for 20 journalists from the Eastern Nile basin countries Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan, and South Sudan. A field visit to explore current uses of the Nile waters in Egypt in Fayoum region was planned by the MWRI for the participants.

Regional kickoff workshop on: Communicating Water Science for Transboundary Cooperation in the Nile Basin, Cairo – Egypt, 2017, this workshop was the kickoff event for the Water diplomacy Lab Project, in collaboration with IHE-Delft, Water Diplomacy Lab project, and project partners.

Participation in 6th Africa Water Week (AWW-6) 2016: The meeting was convened from July 18th – 22nd 2016 in Dar es Salam, Tanzania, under the auspices of the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW), represented by NBCBN Nile Eco-VWU project team in WLE-CGIAR technical session, and presenting the project research results in poster session.

Participation in the Third Arab Water Forum, Cairo, November 2017: NBCBN was present in the Arab Water Forum that was held in Cairo from 26th to 28th November 2017. The network contributed to the Exhibition of the forum and presented posters of all the research activities concluded in 2016-2017.

Participation in CWW 2018: NBCBN was honored to participate in the first Cairo Water week which was organized by the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Egypt in the period from 14th to 18th of October, 2018. NBCBN organized a technical session, in collaboration with its partners, IHE-Delft, and CapNet-UNDP. The session was titled: Capacity Building for Sustainable Development: Innovation, Sharing and Partnerships. Different partners were also represented in this session including SCiDev Net and African Journalists Network (AFJN).

Participation in CWW 2019: for the second year NBCBN successfully participated in the CWW 2019 by co-organizing a technical session on: Networks for Capacity Development and Knowledge Sharing: Tools to Cope with Water Scarcity. The session was convened in collaboration with partners; IHE-Delft Institute for Water Education, the Netherlands, SciDev.Net, CapNet-UNDP, and water youth network (WYN).
